Bollywood films may be banned in Pakistan for the forthcoming Eid Al Fitr, if the country’s Cultural Minister has his way.
According to a report in Globenews.com, Aftab Shah Jilani has said that Bollywood films may be banned from playing in Pakistan during Eid holidays in order to boost the local industry. And that a final decision would be taken after further discussions with the government.
However, the distributors and cinema owners are already up in arms against the proposal, saying they cannot afford to lose millions during the peak earning das of the year
However, there are a few others who claim that the proposal is welcome as the local industry needs to be given a chance.
