Actor Farhan Akhtar is on cloud nine, thanks to the praises he is being showered with for his portrayal of former athlete Milkha Singh in the film, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB). “We all are still enjoying the success of the film. It is great that people have appreciated me and I have made everyone proud including Milkha Singh ji, his family and my family as well,” says the 39-year-old.
“I hope more such stories about our great achievers are dug out as that will help the young generation in knowing about them and what they go through,” he adds.
Does Farhan — who has acted in films such as Rock On!! (2008) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) — consider BMB to be a milestone film in his career? “I don’t know. Even after Dil Chahta Hai (which he had directed), everyone said that this is a milestone film in your career but I believe there are more experiences in life that I have to live," says the actor, who recently launched his wife Adhuna’s salon b:blunt in Gurgaon.
And when can we see him donning the director’s hat again? “You’ll have to wait for it,” says Farhan, who has also directed Lakshya (2004), Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011). As for acting, he will be next seen on the big screen in Shaadi Ke Side Effects, which also stars Vidya Balan. Talking about that, he says, “The shooting is almost over. Two songs will be shot in August. It is great working with Vidya as she is a very versatile actor.”
