Suraj still a part of 'Hero' remake, Salman to meet him in Hyderabad

Words cannot begin to describe Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi's happiness at seeing their son Suraj (22) back home safe and sound, after his 20-day ordeal in Arthur Road Jail, where he was lodged for allegedly abetting the suicide of 26-year-old Jiah Khan.

However, while the couple cannot thank God and the judiciary enough for their son's freedom, they are taking no more chances after all the suffering the family has just been through.

Purely as a precautionary measure, close circuit television cameras will be installed at the two family owned Juhu properties where Suraj stays separately, while his parents stay in Seven Bungalows. The CCTV cameras will help keep tabs on the visitors who frequent both these places. Apparently, Jiah would visit Suraj when they were in a relationship.

A source close to the Pancholis revealed, "Suraj alternates between the two places in Juhu - a flat and a bungalow. A total of six surveillance cameras will be installed; four in the bungalow and two in the flat. The workers have identified suitable spots last afternoon and installation work will start today."

While many would regard such supervision as an invasion of privacy, the family has strong enough reason for taking such a step. "Suraj has suffered enough. He did no wrong and yet was jailed for nearly three weeks. The family is rather wary and wants to ensure he no longer comes in harm's way," said the source.

All said, this isn't the first such case where a film personality has had to resort to surveillance. A few years ago, Madhur Bhandarkar had installed CCTV cameras at his Andheri office after starlet Preeti Jain accused him of 'casting couch' behaviour. It took him twelve days to install three surveillance cameras; the first in the reception area, the second in the room where he conducts interviews, and the third in the room where he auditions aspiring candidates.

Coming back to Suraj, apart from his parents, the 22-year-old has found support from another quarter as well.

If there was any doubt that in the wake of the Jiah controversy, Suraj would no longer be part of Salman Khan's maiden production - the remake of Subhash Ghai's 1983 blockbuster, Hero, Salman has put an end to all such speculation.

Last morning, there was a call from Salman's office, asking for Suraj to be immediately sent to Hyderabad, where Salman is busy shooting for his brother Sohail Khan's Mental.

It is obvious that Salman not only wants Suraj to continue being part of his film, he also wants to cheer up the young actor after his nightmarish experience.

And Aditya too has been cast in Mental in a pivotal role. Apparently, he had already started shooting a couple of days before the Jiah incident, except that the team decided to keep his involvement under wraps.

As of today, both Suraj and his dad will leave for Hyderabad. They are expected to stay there till July 11.

The remake of Hero, expected to go on floors later this year, will also see the debut of Suniel Shetty's 18-year-old daughter Athiya.
