Suraj Pancholi’s Life Back On Track?

Written By Unknown on Monday, 12 August 2013 | 04:40

After spending 23 days in jail for allegedly abetting actress Jiah Khan’s suicide, Suraj, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, is said to have finally come out of hibernation.

Suraj, who had maintained a safe distance from media glare after his release from police custody, seems to have finally moved on in life.

According to a tabloid, the star kid was seen partying with director Ayan Mukherjee at a nightclub on Saturday.

Reportedly, the aspiring actor was seen at a social gathering for the first after the Jiah Khan controversy. Apparently, he is keeping himself engaged in various activities in order to overcome his recent troubled past.

“Suraj took some time to get back on track. His family came to his aid to help him overcome his sorrows. After a long time, he stepped out of his house to party and enjoy himself,” the tabloid quoted a source as saying.

Suraj will be launched by Salman Khan in the remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster ‘Hero’. The film will also mark the debut of Athiya Shetty, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty.

Suraj Pancholi Says He Still Loves Jiah Khan

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, 23 July 2013 | 02:51

Aspiring actor Suraj Pancholi, who was arrested in connection with the suicide of young starlet Jiah Khan, said that he still loves her and is not bothered if his name is associated with her.

In an exclusive interview with a leading daily Suraj, son of celebrity couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, opened up about his relationship with the late actress.

Speaking for the first time about his affair with Jiah, the 22-year-old actor said he first met her through Facebook 10 months ago. According to him, a few weeks after their meetings Jiah texted him saying her hands were bleeding and if he could come help her. He immediately informed her mother Rabiya Khan, who at that time was in London and promised to come to India in two months. But it took her four months to show up. During their conversation, Rabiya also asked him to take care of Jiah in the meantime.

Suraj and Jiah eventually fell in love with each other. "She would tell me how she was depressed due to not getting work, her relationship with her family not being good, the fact that her father had disowned her and that she supported herself. She told me about her getting abused by her former boyfriends and how an older man had raped her when she was 14 in London and how at one point in her life, she would get only one meal a day. I fell even more for her. She just needed more love from her family and respect from people around. I could not fulfil all of that, though I did more than a 21-year-old could. She would cry every night. She could never be alone after she met me and would come to my house often," Suraj told The Times of India.

Suraj also said their relationship was often in trouble as she did not trust him. Speaking about the abortion that Jiah underwent during their affair, Suraj said, "One day she told me, 'Suraj, I am not getting my periods. Can we go to a doctor?' We went to this doctor, who gave her a pill saying she would get it. We went back home and everything was normal. When the police asked her family doctor if I was there at the time of abortion, they denied it. The police asked me and I said, 'Sir, we had a physical relationship. She did not tell me about her pregnancy. If it can be proven that it was mine, I will accept it otherwise it is not mine as I can't say."

Suraj went on to say that he misses Jiah and still loves her.

More than a month after her death on 2 June, Suraj is now gearing up for his film debut in Subhash Ghai's remake of Hero. The film is also said to feature Suneil Shetty's daughter Athiya in the female lead.

NewsBreak: Jiah's 'suicide note' handwriting doesn't match with her love letters!!

NewsBreak: Jiah`s `suicide note` handwriting doesn`t match with her love letters
Did Jiah Khan really write her alleged suicide note, which was one of the main motivations for Suraj Pancholi's 21-day incarceration?

According to sources close to the Pancholis, Suraj's family has got two handwriting tests of Jiah's alleged suicide note done on their own. In both the tests the handwritings in the alleged suicide note and the love letters written to Suraj by Jiah before her death proved to be as different from one another as `chalk and cheese. `

Says the source, `While the official report from the police on the authenticity of Jiah's alleged suicide note is still awaited, Suraj's father Aditya got two tests done in Punjab and the US.

Both tests, done by organizations with the highest credibility, proved that the handwriting in the alleged suicide note did not match with the handwriting of Jiah's letters to Suraj. Now the Pancholis want to know, who wrote Jiah's alleged suicide note? The family wants answers. `

Says the source, `In the light of the forensic reports stating that Jiah had cosumed alcohol before suicide, the doubts being cast on the authenticity of the alleged suicide note can only spell trouble for Jiah's family. The Pancholis are now planning a very elaborate legal counter-offensive. `

Salman Khan Takes Full Charge Of Suraj Pancholi's Bollywood Career

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, 10 July 2013 | 04:34

Salman Khan has taken Suraj Pancholi under his wing and has apparently asked the Pancholis to refrain from commenting on their son's debut film, the remake of the 1983 film Hero, which Salman will co-produce with filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

Suraj, who is charged with abetting the suicide of actress Jiah Khan and is out of jail on bail, went to meet Salman on the sets of Mental in Hyderabad. Salman reportedly feels that the recent spotlight on Suraj has brought undue attention to the project.

"I can't say anything (about the meeting with Salman or Suraj's debut venture). It's not like Salman bhai has barred us from speaking, but he has said, 'Ab main bolunga (now I will talk)'. So we would rather keep quiet," said Suraj's father, actor Aditya Pancholi, about the meeting.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Salman also assured the 21-year-old actor that he would make an announcement about the film.

"During this meeting, Salman assured them of assistance. In fact, he has asked Suraj to start preparing for his Bollywood debut. Once the Mental schedule ends (on July15-16), he is likely to officially announce the Hero remake," said an insider to the newspaper.

Written By Unknown on Monday, 8 July 2013 | 22:34

Sooraj Pancholi was granted bail on July 2. The 22-year-old is now focussing on his debut film, trying to put the tragic Jiah suicide episode behind him.

We've heard, the actor has resumed his workout sessions. A close friend revealed, "Sooraj is in no mood to party or socialise. He is keeping a low profile.

He has started his gym sessions and is extremely focussed on his film career at the moment. His shoot is slated to begin in November and he wants to give all his time for its preparation."

Salman Asked Sooraj To Hit The Gym As Movie Will Start From November 2013.

On Friday, Suraj Pancholi traveled to Hyderabad with his father Aditya Pancholi to meet Salman Khan who is all set to redo Subhash Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster Hero. The Leading Actor and Actress are Suraj and Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya.

Source Revealed, “Hero will start shooting in January 2014. It will now begin in November 2013. Salman has asked the whole group to get into a work-mode instantly. The script is being re-worked to suit today’s times.” Apparently, Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s chartbusters from the definitive Hero will be utilized as a part of the film and Sajid-Wajid might be asked to do some amazing music.
It is learnt that Salman has asked Suraj to hit the gym after they met on Friday.
Says Suraj’s father Aditya Pancholi, “Yes, by the grace of God everything appears to be in track . We will start the movie very soon.”

Suraj Has Become Quieter: Zarina Wahab

Written By Unknown on Saturday, 6 July 2013 | 05:03

The 21 days Sooraj Pancholi spent in jail for allegedly abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide have taken a serious toll on him. Although the aspiring actor, who was released from jail on Tuesday (July 2), has support coming in from all quarters (including help from Salman Khan), his mother, Zarina Wahab, says the 22-year-old is a changed person. “Sooraj was always a quiet kid. And now, after what he has gone through, he has become even quieter. What can you expect after such a young boy goes though such an ordeal?” says Zarina, adding that Sooraj and his father, Aditya Pancholi, left for Hyderabad to meet Salman on July 5.

Salman, who is currently shooting for brother Sohail Khan’s Mental, is supposed to co-produce Sooraj’s debut venture — a remake of Hero (1983). “Aditya is acting in Mental, so he has gone to Hyderabad for the shoot. And Sooraj has accompanied him,” says Zarina, adding that the family is in no condition to even think about their son’s debut film at the moment. “I feel it’s too early to talk about anything. We aren’t even thinking about those things. Sooraj and my husband are in touch with Salman. So let him (Salman) only take the final call. Don’t forget that my son has just come back after spending  20-21 days in jail,” she says.

Salman, in all likelihood, will officially announce the remake at a press conference in a week. From now on, Sooraj’s career will reportedly be handled by the Dabangg (2010) actor’s business management company, Matrix, which also manages stars like Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit.

Sooraj, who was arrested on June 10, was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on July 1. He has been ordered to pay a surety of  Rs. 50,000, surrender his passport and report to the police whenever required for investigations.

Salman's manager to handle Suraj Pancholi's career now

Written By Unknown on Friday, 5 July 2013 | 00:44

After the 20-day ordeal, things are looking up for Suraj Pancholi. A high profile agency that handles Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif andMadhuri Dixit-Nene, has already swung into action and taken over Suraj's work completely.

The business manager of the above-mentioned stars, Reshma Shetty, is in charge of Pancholi Junior's work too. And it is also confirmed that the aspiring actor will debut with the remake ofHero (with Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya) to be helmed by Salman.

"We will announce the film when we are back from Hyderabad around July 11 or so," said the excited actor-father Aditya Pancholi, adding that for anything on his son, Reshma is the contact person. Aditya and Suraj will leave today for Hyderabad where Salman is currently shooting for brother Sohail Khan's film.

Therapy for Suraj Pancholi?

Written By Unknown on Thursday, 4 July 2013 | 20:19

The Pancholi family wants the 22-year-old to seek help to deal with the jail trauma.

It’s a different Suraj Pancholi who came home on Tuesday evening after nearly three weeks of incarceration. Suraj’s parents Aditya and Zarina Wahab are relieved to have their son back home.

Suraj has lost a lot of weight. His parents were shocked to see how gaunt their son looked. It’s like a different human being walking out of that prison on Arthur Road. Says a source close to the family, “More disturbing is the fact that Suraj is not speaking much. He was never talkative. But now he’s absolutely quiet. His parents gently tried to ask him what it was like inside prison, Suraj softly said, ‘Not now, please.’ Then his parents suggested he go to the gym the next day. Suraj refused.”

On Tuesday evening when he returned home, Suraj sat quietly with sister Sana and a cousin. There was hardly any conversation. Adds the source, “What does one say to a son who has gone through such a traumatic experience? Aditya and Zarina are letting Suraj be.” The family has been advised by friends that Suraj should visit a psychologist to come to terms with the traumatic experience.

Says Aditya, “We can’t even begin to imagine what must be going on in our son’s head. At the moment we are just happy to have him back home. We’re taking it one day at a time. My boy has suffered for no fault of his. God bless those who did this to him.”

Suraj still a part of 'Hero' remake, Salman to meet him in Hyderabad

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, 3 July 2013 | 23:18

Words cannot begin to describe Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi's happiness at seeing their son Suraj (22) back home safe and sound, after his 20-day ordeal in Arthur Road Jail, where he was lodged for allegedly abetting the suicide of 26-year-old Jiah Khan.

However, while the couple cannot thank God and the judiciary enough for their son's freedom, they are taking no more chances after all the suffering the family has just been through.

Purely as a precautionary measure, close circuit television cameras will be installed at the two family owned Juhu properties where Suraj stays separately, while his parents stay in Seven Bungalows. The CCTV cameras will help keep tabs on the visitors who frequent both these places. Apparently, Jiah would visit Suraj when they were in a relationship.

A source close to the Pancholis revealed, "Suraj alternates between the two places in Juhu - a flat and a bungalow. A total of six surveillance cameras will be installed; four in the bungalow and two in the flat. The workers have identified suitable spots last afternoon and installation work will start today."

While many would regard such supervision as an invasion of privacy, the family has strong enough reason for taking such a step. "Suraj has suffered enough. He did no wrong and yet was jailed for nearly three weeks. The family is rather wary and wants to ensure he no longer comes in harm's way," said the source.

All said, this isn't the first such case where a film personality has had to resort to surveillance. A few years ago, Madhur Bhandarkar had installed CCTV cameras at his Andheri office after starlet Preeti Jain accused him of 'casting couch' behaviour. It took him twelve days to install three surveillance cameras; the first in the reception area, the second in the room where he conducts interviews, and the third in the room where he auditions aspiring candidates.

Coming back to Suraj, apart from his parents, the 22-year-old has found support from another quarter as well.

If there was any doubt that in the wake of the Jiah controversy, Suraj would no longer be part of Salman Khan's maiden production - the remake of Subhash Ghai's 1983 blockbuster, Hero, Salman has put an end to all such speculation.

Last morning, there was a call from Salman's office, asking for Suraj to be immediately sent to Hyderabad, where Salman is busy shooting for his brother Sohail Khan's Mental.

It is obvious that Salman not only wants Suraj to continue being part of his film, he also wants to cheer up the young actor after his nightmarish experience.

And Aditya too has been cast in Mental in a pivotal role. Apparently, he had already started shooting a couple of days before the Jiah incident, except that the team decided to keep his involvement under wraps.

As of today, both Suraj and his dad will leave for Hyderabad. They are expected to stay there till July 11.

The remake of Hero, expected to go on floors later this year, will also see the debut of Suniel Shetty's 18-year-old daughter Athiya.

Salman Khan not to attend IIFA 2013

Salman Khan took time off from the shooting of his film Mental to connect with fans on Twitter.

He said he would be skipping the IIFA awards, which kicks off on July 4, as he's shooting everyday.

'Hi ! All good. Sure @iifa wld rock. Cld nt b thr cs shooting every day. Saw the promo of issaq n loved it , it looks amazing,' the actor tweeted.

He also tweeted that he's happy for Suraj Pancholi, who was granted bail and finally went home. 'Aur kya ? Hmmmmmmmm ? Kuch nahi . challo u guys take care . Arre haan sooooo happy that sooraj got bail,' he signed off.

It is rumoured that Salman will launch Suraj Pancholi in the remake of Subhash Ghai's 1983 hit film Hero.

Jiah Khan suicide case: Suraj Pancholi walks out of jail

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, 2 July 2013 | 22:03

Besides, the court held that Suraj never nurtured an intent or "mens rea" (motive) to push the 25-year-old actress to end her life.

Three weeks after his arrest in the actress Jiah Khan suicide case, Suraj Pancholi, son of Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi, was released from prison today after the Bombay High Court granted him bail.

Suraj, granted bail yesterday, walked out of the Arthur Road Jail in central Mumbai at about 5 pm. His family members had been busy since yesterday to complete the bail-related formalities.

Granting relief to Suraj, the HC had observed that the 22-year-old aspiring actor can't be held solely responsible for the "impulsive" act of his actress-girlfriend.

"No doubt it was unfortunate that a young girl has committed suicide. She (Jiah) must have been impulsive and he (Suraj) cannot be held solely responsible for it," Justice Sadhna Jadhav had observed.

Suraj, arrested on June 10 on the charge of abetment of suicide, had been granted bail on a surety of Rs 50,000. The court directed him to surrender his passport and appear before the Juhu police every alternate day.

The HC had observed the letter (on the basis of which Suraj was arrested), purportedly written by Jiah and recovered from her house, could not be taken as a suicide note as it is not addressed to anyone and was undated.

The HC noted the letter never reached Suraj.

"Therefore, it cannot be said the emotions expressed in the letter ever reached the applicant (Suraj)," Justice Jadhav said.

Besides, the court held that Suraj never nurtured an intent or "mens rea" (motive) to push the 25-year-old actress to end her life.

The Nishabd star was found hanging in her apartment here on June 3. Jiah's family has accused Suraj of physically and emotionally abusing her.
