Ever since he managed to get a 14-day parole for medical treatment, Sanjay Dutt has been spending some quiet time with his family at his palatial Bandra pad. While he’s been keeping a low profile, we hear he has been selectively socialising with a few well-connected friends. Just two days before Sanjay’s request for an extension of furlough came through, his wife Maanyata was spotted at a party thrown by a ‘family friend’ at his Marine Drive residence.
Several bureaucrats, police officers, politicians and even a few from Mumbai’s swish set were present to hob nob with the Dutts — though there are conflicting reports about whether Sanjay was also present. If indeed he was, it’ll ensure he’s sent straight back to the slammer with no hope for future parole. It will also spell deep trouble for the many government officials who were present that night. The host is known to be an influential person in government and political circles and some even say he could have been instrumental in securing the extended parole for Dutt.
Interestingly, even while Sanjay’s presence is being so vehemently denied, no one is denying that Maanyata made make the trip from Bandra to Marine Drive for this bash. That’s odd. Why would Maanyata leave her husband and children home to attend a party alone on the opposite side of town just a couple of days before he was supposed to return to jail? Of course, that’s assuming she didn’t know the extension of parole was a done deal. We may have the answer,
