Priyanka Chopra’s sensuous avatar as item girl in ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ song

Look who is turning on the heat! For those waiting to see Priyanka Chopra’s hot avatar in Ram-Leela, here’s the full view. The song is out and as expected Priyanka scorches the dance floor in this modern-mujra.

The song, touted as Priyanka Chopra’s item track, is actually the introductory number for the two lovers of the film. The video of the song has a few scenes of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone spliced in between.

But it’s Priyanka Chopra who steals the show with her sexy grooves and yogic poses even though the song’s composition by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not that engaging. The song’s highlight is its choreography which is quite unique, and unlike any other item song. The credit for this goes to Prabhu Deva’s dancer-brother Vishnu Deva, who has made Priyanka gyrate to contemporary dance moves, and even kathak steps.

Vishnu is already a fan of PeeCee’s dancing, and says she is a fabulous dancer. The set-up of Ram Chahe Leela is colourful and has a very lounge-like feel to it. The luminescent dance floor resembles that of a discotheque. Even though the song’s treatment is like a mujra, its look and feel is pretty modern.

Be it Pinky or Babli, the audience response to Priyanka Chopra’s previous item tracks was tepid. But with Ram-Leela’s song it may change as she sets the temperature soaring in this one.

Rishi Kapoor Turns 'Item Boy'

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has grooved to several hit numbers in his heyday, but performing in a 'solo item dance' for 'Kaanchi' is a 'thrilling' experience for the 60-year-old.

The actor will be seen dancing in Subhash Ghai's upcoming film 'Kaanchi'.

"I'm too thrilled to do this solo item dance with Subhash Ghai after so many years and its just a fabulous song," Rishi, who worked with Ghai in 1980 movie 'Karz', said in a statement.

A huge set has been erected for the dance number and over 90 dancers are performing on a tune composed by duo Salim-Suleiman. It is being choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

Ghai is equally excited about working with Rishi again.

"Rishi is amazing... he has the same passion and energy he had earlier. I love working with him," he said.

'Kaanchi', which also stars Kartik Tiwari and newcomer Mishti, will release Dec 6.

Aishwarya Rai Loses 'Ram Leela' Item Song to Priyanka Chopra?

Looks like the comeback of Aishwarya Rai won’t be as soon as the fans expect it to be.

The strong buzz about Aishwarya Rai’s comeback with an item song in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Ram Leela seem to be fizzling out with the news that it’s Priyanka Chopra who’s edged Ash out to land the song.

Recently, Ash even confirmed that she was in talks with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

“I think I should leave it to the respected people to make the announcement, if there are any. And, have we been in talks? Yes, but the conclusion of it, when we arrive at it, there will be announcements made,” clarified Aishwarya Rai at the launch of Lodha Group’s new project ‘The Park’.

We hear Bhansali has zeroed in on Priyanka Chopra for the item song with Ranveer Singh in Ram Leela. The song’s shoot will begin in Film City in a week’s time and the costume designer Anju Modi has reportedly been briefed about designing outfits for Priyanka.

As for Aishwarya Rai, looks like Bhansali may have something bigger planned than an item song. A movie, may be!

Kainaat Arora set to sizzle in 'Hate Story 2' item song

After doing item number `Aila re aila` and movie `Grand Masti`, model-actress Kainaat Arora is set to scorch the screen with another pulsating song in `Hate Story 2`.

The actress will shoot for the song by the end of the month. It has been sung by Mamta Sharma of `Munni badnaam hui` fame and Ganesh Acharya will choreograph it.

"I worked with Ganesh for `Grand Masti` title song and the experience was very good. This would be my second song with him. This one is an item song. It is a T-series film and it is a very big track," she told reporters.

Kainaat entered filmdom with `Aila re aila` in `Khatta Meetha` and was seen shaking a leg with Akshay Kumar. Post the song, she moved to the southern film industry.

"After `Khatta Meetha`, I didn`t want to do any item songs. I was getting calls from big films, but I didn`t want to be typecast. I was only getting offers for songs. I did a song with Ajith Kumar (in `Mankatha`). I thought it would better to do a song with Ajith Kumar as he is a big name down south.

"Also, I did a song for a Malayalam film. When I came back, I was sure that I would rather wait than do a song," she said.

Her patience paid off as she bagged a role in `Grand Masti`, in which she is paired with Vivek Oberoi.

"Then `Grand Masti` happened. After the film got over, I got a call from T-series. I thought `Grand Masti` is coming and that link (of only doing item numbers) will break," she said.

'Grand Masti', an adult comedy, is coming out Sep 13.

No More Item Numbers For Katrina Kaif!

Bollywood's golden beauty Katrina Kaif, who has given out some hit item numbers like Sheila Ki Jawani and Chikni Chameli, is now refusing to do item numbers.

According to reports, Katrina has been approached by three filmmakers to do an item song in their film. But Katrina has turned down the offers due to her busy schedule.

Apparently Katrina loves to dance and doesn't mind doing item numbers but her busy schedule is not letting her accept the offers. According to reports, Filmmakers also consider Katrina as their lucky charm and think that her presence in the song is like a guarantee of super hit songs.

Nargis preparing for her item number with full force!

Actress Nargis Fakhri is said to be doing the best that she can for her debut item number in "Phata Poster Nikla Hero". 

Nargis will shake a leg with Shahid Kapoor for the number, composed by Pritam, and choreographed by Bosco-Caeser. 

Details of the number are being closely guarded, but one hears that the "Rock On!!" actress will be presented in an all-new avatar. A popular stylist is said to have been roped in for the same.
