Fashion is important for all : Alia Bhatt

Actress Alia Bhatt doesn't feel like a star despite being in news for her line up of films and brand endorsements. Post her debut film 'Student Of The Year', Alia will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway', Karan Johar's '2 States' and a film with Varun Dhawan.

"I don't have much acting experience. I am not a star. I am learning... there is a long way to go. As of now I am dependent on my directors," she told PTI.
Alia was nervous before shooting for 'Highway', an intense road movie, as 'Student Of The Year' was a light hearted film. She says her 'Highway' co-star Randeep Hooda helped her.

"He is a great actor and helped me a lot, he made me feel comfortable. Though he is senior, he is as young as I am. It is just a perception that he is older. Rather, there were times when I was acting older and saying don't do this or that," she said.

Alia, who would be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in '2 States', finds him extremely supportive. "He is a great actor, I loved him in 'Ishaqzaade'. He is an amazing person. He helped me in preparing for the role," the actress said who plays a South Indian girl in the film.

The actress, who is also the ambassador of cosmetic brand Maybelline, feels it's good to be trendy. "Fashion is important for all... It is the way of depicting yourself. People should groom themselves," she said.

I Failed In My First Year Of college : Randeep Hooda

Actor Randeep Hooda admits to being not so studious during his college days and he believes that to succeed in life one needs to follow one's passion.

"I hardly studied in college and I got through because I think most of the courses in college are courses in common sense. What you learn in college is outside the class," the 37-year-old told reporters at the St. Xavier's college where he was promoting his film 'John Day'.

"In college, I used to worry about my future. But ultimately if you do something you are interested in, you will become a champion in it and it has got nothing to do with education," added the actor who carved a niche for himself in the field of modelling and acting.

Randeep says what helps him in his career today is his time spent with friends.

"I failed in my first year but ultimately I got my degree. But that degree is of no use to me when I stand on stage today. My interpersonal skills and the time spent with my friends is what is helping me. So don't be disheartened and follow your dreams," he said.

Seen in films 'Monsoon Wedding', 'Cocktail' and 'Murder', Randeep's next is 'John Day'.

Directed by Ashishor Solomon, 'John Day' is a thriller and stars Naseeruddin Shah in the title role, while Randeep plays a police officer.

It will hit theatres Sep 13.

Salman Khan Gets UK Visa

Sajid Nadiadwala's upcoming film Kick had met with a roadblock after lead actor Salman Khan's visa to UK was rejected. While the rest of the crew had already begun shooting in London, Salman was held up, thanks to his visa woes. However, insiders say the star has finally managed to procure all the right papers and will be setting sail in a week's time.

A source close to Salman says, "The happy days are back again. Salman bhai has got the visa to travel to London and will be leaving in a week's time. In the meanwhile, he will be completing his other commitments in the city." Initially when the star's visa was rejected, no reason had allegedly been given for it.

A certain section of the industry speculated if it had something to do with his 2002 hit-and-run case pending in the court. The next date of hearing on the case is on August 19. Nadiadwala remained unavailable for comment.

Double saves the trouble

In the meanwhile, work on the London sets of the film has not stalled due to the unavailability of its lead actor. Nadiadwala is already in London shooting with the rest of the cast including Randeep Hooda. And apparently, shooting for Salman's portions is his body double.

A unit hand says, "The body double has been filming scenes that Salman can't shoot for due to his health issues. This saves a lot of time, money and energy of the crew and the production house. When Salman comes they can begin his portions right away."

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda, who was in a relationship with Sushmita Sen and Neetu Chandra, has found new love in his life. If sources are to be believed, the actor is allegedly dating 'Murder 3' co-star Aditi Rao Hydari.

It has been reported that the two have been going steady for the last few months and are seen together in public events. The two bonded well on the sets of Murder 3 and have kept intouch even after the release of movie. Since the relationship is in early stage, both Randeep and Aditi are not ready to talk about it openly.

While Randeep was involved with both Sushmita and Neetu in the past, Aditi has also recently separated from her husband Satyadeep Mishra after a troubled marriage. We hope that both Randeep and Aditi can move ahead in their life and have a happy relationship.

The actor on sacrificing love for bigger goals in life and playing Charles Sobhraj in his next film

The last year seems to have breathed fresh life into Randeep Hooda's Bollywood career. While he admits that the last 12 months brought about a positive transformation in his attitude, it also cost him his relationship with actress Neetu Chandra. But for the moment, Randeep is happy immersing himself into his films.

The previous year has seen an upswing in your career.
Yes, it has been a roller coaster ride and I am doing a significant amount of work. I am enjoying this process and I am thankful for the success that I am achieving. It is a boon to learn that people want to be associated. I feel there is a higher power conspiring for me and I hope I can try and maintain this success.

People often complained about your attitude. Is that a thing of the past?
I have also changed. I want to be part of good films, do my work politely, quietly go home and have a more professional attitude. The success in Bollywood depends a lot on people's opinion about you.


You even broke off with your girlfriend Neetu Chandra.
Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for a bigger goal. It is not the end of the road for me and I may find solace again in my personal relationships. Right now my life consists of only my make-up, sets and characters.

Tell us about the biopic on Charles Sobhraj.
The world has just woken up to biopics but I have already done D, Rang Rasiya, Risk and now Bad. We have just started shooting for the film with director Pravaal Raman.


Are you ready to shake off your brooding man avatar?
I have been doing a lot of characters, who are undergoing emotional turmoil. So much so that they even started affecting me. Sajid Nadiadwala's next film has come as a great boon. 

He came to me and said in jest, 'your father has not been killed, nor has your sister been raped'. I play a normal man instead of a melancholic guy. Although I do enjoy these expressive roles and I know my strength does lie there. But now I want to relax.

So are you demanding a high price for doing these films?
(Laughs) I hope I am. After doing so many films for free or almost free as a good gesture, I hope that I get more.


Is it true that you still stay in a rental flat?
I have never given any importance to such things. My happiness has always been my horses but I have reached a point in my life where I need some sense of security. I am going to buy a house soon.
