“Amidst all the noise that has been going around, the sweetest is the one made by our new-born baby, AbRam.He was born prematurely by several months but has finally come home. Gauri and our whole family have been dealing with his health issues for a long time now. As a family our silence on this subject has been because of the personal nature of emotional strife that we have been going through due to his health.

We wish to make a special mention and thank Dr. Jatin Shah for his expertise and contribution. We also wish to thank all the other doctors, nurses and medical staff who have made his life possible. As trying were the times, we never lost hope that life always brings with it.

Just to put the record straight there was no sex determination for our child. The baby was born much before the speculations of ‘sex determination’ and other ‘issues’ pertaining to the same were being raised in the media by some organisations.  Suffice to say his coming home puts to rest completely false and at times insensitive claims of sex determination and alleged illegalities.

We also apologise to all those other doctors and hospitals who had to face unwanted scrutiny and questioning by some parties.

Our son is a surrogate baby and the entire process is bound by strict confidentiality. We would appeal to all, to allow us to cherish this private moment as a family.  It seems unfortunate that I have to explain/clarify so many aspects for our new-born baby. Wish it were just a simple message of happiness on behalf of the family.

They say a baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on. Post this statement, I hope we all move on too.”

SRK’s Baby Boy Name Revealed !

Mumbai, July 3: Mannat has a new member — Abram .Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan’s baby boy, born through a surrogate mother, has spent most of his seven weeks in hospital but is back home now. His birth is in the process of being registered.

“Born to Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, via a surrogate mother, the boy has been named Abram (a variant of Abraham). We have received necessary documents to register the birth,” said Manisha Mhaiskar, additional municipal commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

BMC sources said staff from Mannat, SRK’s seafront residence, had submitted all relevant papers about a week back. “The baby, born premature at 34 weeks on May 27, weighed 1.5kg at birth. The assisted birth took place at Andheri's Masrani Hospital for Women,” said a BMC official.

Shah Rukh today said the much-publicised birth was a “personal and confidential” matter for him.

“It is a personal and confidential matter... it is a mix of happiness and sadness. I request the authorities concerned to continue to enthusiastically investigate about my baby,” PTI quoted him as saying.

The actor had run into a controversy last month after a tabloid quoted a purported Mannat insider as saying that the baby the couple were expecting would be a boy. It had prompted the Maharashtra government to order a probe to see if a sex-selection test was done.

Gender testing is banned in the country under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) Act.

Today, a source close to the Khans said the report about the couple’s surrogate son came after he was born. “The information was not based on an illegal ultrasound,” the source said. “We knew it was a boy because he had already been born.”

A doctor at the hospital where Abram was born told The Telegraph that complications relating to premature birth necessitated a “ventouse” delivery. “His heart rate was non-reassuring before birth, so a vacuum device was used to help the baby out of the birth canal.”

After a month-long stint at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital and later at Breach Candy, the baby, the couple’s third child, returned home last week.

Sources at Breach Candy said the baby was admitted to the neo-natal intensive care unit on June 4 under the care of Dr Cyrus Contractor, a city paediatrician.

Gauri’s sister-in-law Namita Chibber was also admitted to the hospital on the same day under Dr Indira Hinduja, who had delivered India’s first test-tube baby in 1986.

Although it couldn’t be confirmed whether Namita was the surrogate mother, staff at Breach Candy hospital said her discharge form had Shah Rukh’s private number, not her or her husband’s cell numbers.

“SRK and Gauri were constant visitors of Namita. She was discharged on June 28. SRK would also visit the neo-natal ICU,” said a source at Breach Candy.

The source close to the Khans said their son Aryan, 15, who studies in a UK school, flew down to Mumbai to check out his little brother. “Gauri, SRK and the two elder kids are besotted with the baby right now. But they are not celebrating yet. The baby was a bit unwell after birth and needed intensive care. But now everything is okay and there will be a party at Mannat for the new-born after the release of Shah Rukh’s Chennai Express on August 8,” the source added.

The actor, who will be seen promoting Chennai Express on a reality show, has got invites to the media cancelled for the shoot of the episode. “Shah Rukh Khan wants to call a press conference to announce his surrogate baby. He does not want to face the media before that, given the controversy surrounding the supposed pre-birth sex-determination test,” the source said.

The BMC had sent a team to Shah Rukh’s residence on June 17 to ascertain the facts. “But the team was turned away, (after being told that) the actor and his wife were not at home,” additional commissioner Mhaiskar said.

On June 19, BMC executive health officer Dr Arun Bamane said the actor had spoken to civic officials the day before and denied making any statement that could suggest his third child would be a boy.

Finally, BMC gets birth report of Shah Rukh's surrogate baby

MUMBAI: The month-long wait for details of actor Shah Rukh Khan's third baby, born with the help of a surrogate mother, is over. BMC officials have received a birth report with details that a baby boy was born on May 27 to parents listed as Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Shah Rukh Khan at Masrani Hospital for Women in Andheri. The child was born at 34 weeks of pregnancy and weighed 1.5kg at birth, said BMC executive health officer Dr Arun Bamne.


The baby was reportedly taken from Masrani to Nanavati Hospital, Juhu, and finally to Breach Candy Hospital. It is believed that the child has been discharged from Breach Candy and is home with the Khans.

On Tuesday, Bamne told TOI, "We have received from Masrani Nursing Home a birth report, which has to be mandatorily filed by nursing homes and hospitals to register every birth in the city."

Masrani Hospital is located in Lalubhai Compound, S V Road, Andheri (W).

On the basis of this birth report the BMC has to issue a birth certificate to the parents.

There are no official details about the surrogate mother, but some reports in the media had said that Gauri's sister-in-law Namita Chibber may have been the surrogate. Khan family friends said the surrogate mother had already flown back to London.

Civic officials said the birth report was received by K-West Ward officials in June-end and was immediately sent to the head office because there was widespread controversy over whether a pre-natal sex determination test had been conducted. Reports in a section of the press had said that the baby's gender had been known before birth, suggesting the use of sex-determination methods.

While Indian guidelines for Assisted Reproductive Techniques allow the use of surrogate mothers, the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act forbids testing to determine the gender of a foetus.

The BMC had sent a team to Khan's residence on June 18 to determine the facts of the case, but the actor denied the reports. "Now that we have the birth certificate, we will follow the details of the child's journey from the nursing home to Nanavati Hospital in Juhu to Breach Candy Hospital," said a civic official.

When contacted, BMC additional municipal commissioner Manisha Mhaiskar said, "Our officials will now get back to the actor and get details about whether sex-determination tests were done in Mumbai."

Shahrukh Khan welcomes baby boy to his family!

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, has finally become a father for the third time. If reports are to be believed, he had planned a surrogate baby that was due in July. The buzz suggests that the baby was already delivered in the first week of June and is a boy. Also, some sources said that the baby is in a premature state.

The surrogate mother, who gave birth to the child is said to be a close relative of Gauri. She has been taken care in the Breach Candy hospital, Mumbai. The baby was delivered by the infertility specialist, Dr Indira Hinduja, giving SRK and his wife a third member in their family.

Presently, Shahrukh has two children, 15-year-old Aryan and a 13-year-old daughter, Suhana. The reports also suggests that King Khan has planned a grand celebration to welcome his little one, He has send invitations to a number of friends and family members for the grand accasion. 

As per reports, no one is allowed to visit the hospital so as to see the baby.

This will not be the first couple to have a baby through surrogacy, Bollywood couple, Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao also have a son named Azad through the same process.

We can exclusively reveal that Shah Rukh Khan's surrogate baby will be delivered in London. A source reveals that the lady carrying the baby is based in London and the delivery will happen in the British capital.

There is also news that Seema Khan who is Sohail Khan's wife and also had a child through surrogacy is travelling to London to make sure there is no problem. Our source reveals that Shah Rukh Khan wanted to make sure his baby was a British national.

While some were surprised about the new revelation, others called it a publicity gimmick. Finally, all the rumours were laid to rest after Shahrukh khan himself admitted to the fact, that Gauri and he are expecting their third child, whose sex has certainly not been identified.

 

 

Despite his claims, people are inquisitive about this new addition to their family, which consist of two kids already, Suhana Khan and Aryan Khan.

 

 

What has made people scratch their heads all this while is the fact that the star couple has opted for a rather scientific process for delivery of their child, commonly called as surrogacy. Though, before Shahrukh, Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao had also stuck to the same process.
