MUMBAI: The Big Khan Patch-Up is happening as we speak.

Two weekends ago, Salman Khan took the initiative to hug Shah Rukh Khan at politician Baba Siddiqui’s Iftar party. The hug created huge ripples across Bollywood and among the fan base of both the stars. Shah Rukh Khan, too, tweeted about the hug.

Everyone was still wondering whether the hug was just a publicity stunt. Even family members like Sohail Khan and Salim Khan asked the media to read less into the hug.

And now, Shah Rukh Khan is returning the goodwill. We have learnt that Shah Rukh Khan is organising an Iftar party at his Dubai residence for all his close friends. This party will take place tonight and he has apparently invited Salman Khan for the party too.

Will Salman Khan reciprocate by going to the party? No one knows as yet. Till then let us look at their relationship from years past and hope we could get more such moments added to the list!

Therapy for Suraj Pancholi?

The Pancholi family wants the 22-year-old to seek help to deal with the jail trauma.

It’s a different Suraj Pancholi who came home on Tuesday evening after nearly three weeks of incarceration. Suraj’s parents Aditya and Zarina Wahab are relieved to have their son back home.

Suraj has lost a lot of weight. His parents were shocked to see how gaunt their son looked. It’s like a different human being walking out of that prison on Arthur Road. Says a source close to the family, “More disturbing is the fact that Suraj is not speaking much. He was never talkative. But now he’s absolutely quiet. His parents gently tried to ask him what it was like inside prison, Suraj softly said, ‘Not now, please.’ Then his parents suggested he go to the gym the next day. Suraj refused.”

On Tuesday evening when he returned home, Suraj sat quietly with sister Sana and a cousin. There was hardly any conversation. Adds the source, “What does one say to a son who has gone through such a traumatic experience? Aditya and Zarina are letting Suraj be.” The family has been advised by friends that Suraj should visit a psychologist to come to terms with the traumatic experience. 

Says Aditya, “We can’t even begin to imagine what must be going on in our son’s head. At the moment we are just happy to have him back home. We’re taking it one day at a time. My boy has suffered for no fault of his. God bless those who did this to him.”

A series of photos depicting Honey Singh at a wedding ceremony have been released online, and while the identity of the girl in question is unknown, a helpful photographer stepped forward to spill the beans on the ceremony. "I was the official photographer at Honey Singh's wedding ceremony, which took place on January 23, 2011 at a farmhouse on the otuskirts of Delhi. There were Sikh rituals in the morning at a Gurudwara in Sarojini Nagar," conceded Delhi-based photographer Vinod Kumar in an interview with a leading daily, before producing pictures from the actual function.

However, nothing in the rapper's life is ever clear cut, and this case has taken a turn for the mysterious, with Yo Yo Honey Singh staunchly refuting all claims of being married, secretly or otherwise. In a interview with Hindustan Times, the 29 year old rapper categorically stated, "I may have a lot of girlfriends, but I am not at all married," and went on to brush off the photos pointing to the contrary as, "Those wedding pictures on the net are not true, they are from a shoot that I had done."

His words will no doubt provide a spat of relief to his female admirers at having his bachelor status reinstated, but if you ask us, this case just got a whole lot curiouser and curiouser, as Alice would have put it.

Krrish 3 to hit screens on November 4

It's final. Krrish 3 is set to release on November 4, a day after Diwali this year, says filmmaker Rakesh Roshan. 

"Krrish 3 will finally release on November 4, that is Monday," said producer-director Rakesh Roshan confirming the final release date of the film for the first time. 

Rakesh Roshan also confirmed for the first time that the first official trailer of the film would be attached to Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express.

"Yes our trailers will be out on August 8," he added. 

Rakesh and Hrithik Roshan had been in talks to decide the crucial Diwali release date for Krrish 3.

While earlier the film was to be released on Sunday, November 3, which is Diwali, the Roshans were under pressure to postpone the release by a day. 

"The Diwali day, that is November 3, had been locked in for the release. But then distributors and exhibitors felt people like to stay home on Diwali night for Laxmi Puja. It was felt November 4, that is the day after Diwali, would be far more favourable as a release date for Krrish 3," said a source close to the Roshans.

Katrina spends time with Ranbir, Neetu in London

 Katrina Kaif who is in a serious relationship with Ranbir Kapoor had a great time off late with Ranbir and her mother Neetu Kapoor. Ranbir’s mom Neetu likes Katrina a lot and she gave her son green signal to go ahead with the diva. Lately, Katrina flew to London, her hometown to spend time with Ranbir who was in the country for the promotion of his latest film, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.

Well, Katrina and Ranbir were not all alone, also present Ranbir’s mother and veteran actress Neetu Kapoor. The three of them had a great time in London and they chatted over dinner and spend quality time. Neetu accepted Kat as her daughter-in-law and likes her son’s choice.

It’s only what the rickshaw driver told us. I shall now resume tweeting about normal things again.”

Ranbir Kapoor dated Deepika Padukone in the beginning of the career. Later, he cut ties with her and bond with Katrina Kaif. Their romance blossomed on the set of ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazaab Kahini’ and since then both are together.

Though the couple denied being in a relationship, they are often spotted together spending quality time which proved that they are very much in love.

Jiah Nafisa Khan case: Kangna Ranaut supporting Suraj Pancholi?

Kangna Ranaut, who was once dating Aditya Pancholi, seems to be talking diplomatically on the Jiah Nafisa Khan suicide case. At a recent press conference, when the actress was asked questions probing her long forgotten relationship with Aditya Pancholi -- trying to gauge her comments on the reported abusive nature of her ex-boyfriend -- she dodged the question, answering in a single, closed-ended sentence.

Her comments, however, on Jiah Nafisa Khan suicide case, came as a shocker for many. The actress indirectly blamed the late actress herself for her situation. And said that she should have got herself treated for depression -- as it was depression that took her life away. While half of the country as well as the Mumbai High Court are blaming Suraj Pancholi (son of her ex-boyfriend) for abetment of suicide of the late Jiah Khan, Kangna's statements are being taken by many as insensitive.

Salman Khan gets 10 years imprisonment

Bollywood actor Salman Khan gets 10 years life imprisonment in hit-and-run case. The court rejects the actor’s review plea and he is tried of culpable homicide. Salman Khan is found guilty of under section 304 (II). He is tried for rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He is mostly likely to get 10 years in jail term, which is the maximum punishment as per the section.


On Monday, session court rejects Salman Khan’s plea which challenged the Bandra metropolitan magistrate court’s order. 11 years ago Salman’s run his car over the pavement of bakery shop an killed two people and injured few others.

Judge UB Hejib said that the magistrate’s court’s order is correct and the actor is guilty of culpable homicide and his appeal was dismissed. The magistrate concluded that Salman Khan knew he must not drive the vehicle in a drunken condition and at a high speed.

Khan had filed appeal in February 2013 after the magistrate court had accepted the state government’s plea of enhancing the charges against the actor. The actor’s counsel, advocate Ashok Mundergi at the time of filling the appeal argued that the magistrate had overlooked the defence witnesses; hence, they wanted to challenge the order in sessions court.

However, judge Hejib observed, “I find myself unable to subscribe with the submissions advanced by the defence lawyers that the learned magistrate has come to a wrong conclusion; the defence has not taken into account the cross-examination of prosecution’s witness.”

The court has also taken into consideration the complaint of police officer Ravindra Patil who was with Salman in the car while he was driving the car. Patil who was succumbed to toberculosis in October 2007 in his statement said that he had warned the actor to drive slowly in order to avoid any mishap

On September 28, 2002, Salman's Toyota Land Cruiser had rammed into a bakery in Bandra killing one and injuring four others who were sleeping on a pavement.

Jiah Khan’s suicide highlighted in a movie, Bold Bollywood

It was the tragic suicide of the promising youngster of Bollywood Jiah Khan with which the whole world is yet to come to terms. Amidst all the turmoil happening around the suicide case, a filmmaker has been inspired to make a movie focusing on the tragic death of Jiah.

The film narrates the stories of three aspiring actresses who came to Mumbai to make a Bollywood career. Director Rikshhit Matta, who marks his debut with this film said, “The media reports surrounding the sad death of Jiah Khan, the heartbreak and the subsequent loss moved me. Success in Bollywood is elusive and there are a lot of pitfalls. My film is a sincere attempt to expose the underbelly of the film fraternity.”



He also added, “One of the characters is similar to Jiah Khan and the ups and down she went through in her career and life.” The film titled Bold Bollywood has been produced by Shabana Hashmi. As per the producer of the film, “We want to bring forth the dark side of the glamour world. Even for our future projects, we want to take up subjects with a message that bring about an awareness in society.” The film stars Hazel Keech, Sandeepa Dhar, Shweta Bharadwaj, Rajpal Yadav and Manoj Joshi in key roles. The film was launched at a five star joint recently.

Salman Khan: Bollywood's bad boy

A Mumbai court on Monday ruled that actor Salman Khan will be tried for the 2002 hit-and-run case. The sessions court rejected Khan's appeal that there wasn't evidence against him to merit a trial. The actor will be tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and has been given a month's time to appear before the court.

LEGAL TROUBLES

Hit-and-Run Case: In 2002, Salman Khan was accused of allegedly running over five people, killing one and injuring others on a Mumbai pavement in September 2002. He spent 17 days in jail. He clarified later that he was not driving.

The latest is that the magistrate court has added the harsher legal section of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the actor. Under this section, if found guilty, the court can award can award Khan a maximum punishment of 10 years’ of imprisonment. 

Blackbuck Case: In February 2006, Salman Khan was convicted under the Wildlife Act for poaching a Chinkara in Jodhpur during the shooting of film Hum Saath Saath Hain in September 1998. He wassentenced to one-year imprisonment and was slapped a fine of Rs. 5,000. Actor Saif Ali Khan too, was accused of the hunting.

Salman Khan is supposed to have dated four actresses and has a unique controversy with each of them.

Salman-Sangeeta: Salman’s first lady love was model-turned-actor Sangeeta Bijlani. The two broke up after a couple of years. After their split, Sangeeta married former Indian Cricket team captain, Azharuddin.

Salman-Somy: In 1993, Somy Ali came to Mumbai from US. With Salman’s help, she made her debut in Anth (1993). The two came close but eventually broke up in 1998 due to Salman’s excessive drinking and abusive behaviour. There were even rumours of Salman smashing a Cola bottle on the former's head while they were dating in the 90s but Somy denied in a recent interview to HT.

Salman-Aishwarya: Till date, one of the actor's most-talked-about controversies was his tumultous relationship with Aishwarya Rai. Salman and Aishwarya Rai (now Bachchan) began their romance in 1999 while they were shooting for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Their love life ended in 2002 on a turbulent note as Salman was accused of abusing her. Reports claimed that Salman, unable to accept the breakup, had started harassing and hounding and even threatening Aishwarya. He apparently even slapped a journalist once for asking him questions about Aishwarya.

Salman-Katrina: Katrina Kaif met Salman in 2003 when she was still a struggling model. The two came close when Salman mentored her and got her several plum film projects and were in a relationship for a long time. In 2011, Katrina told a magazine that Salman was her first serious relationship.

It is believed that Khan's over-possessive nature was the reason behind their break-up. They two supposedly split in 2008 but have continued to remain friends, appear at events and star in films together.

Clash of the Khans: In 2008, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan broke into a heated argument resulting in a physical fight at Salman’s then girlfriend and actor Katrina Kaif’s birthday party at a restaurant in Mumbai and things were never the same. Ever since, the two actors have constantly been taking digs at each other, adding more fuel to the fire.

But then just when everyone was certain that these two stalwart Khans could never make peace, there came reports of the two supposedly patching up at Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan premiere party where almost the entire film fraternity was present.

However, a few days later, SRK made clarifications denying the whole truce story. Although the two have not openly buried the hatchet yet, there was another recent incident of Salman Khan coming to SRK's defence on the last season of Bigg Boss. But none but them know the real story till date!

Vivek Saga: Actor Vivek Oberoi ruffled feathers in 2003 with his claim at a press conference that Salman had abused him and threatened to kill him as Vivek was close to Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai.

In 2010, Salman apologised for making a controversial remark about the 26/11 terror attack in an interview saying, “Everybody knew the (Pakistani) govt wasn’t behind it and it was a terrorist attack.”

Salman was also slapped with a fatwa by Muslim organisations not once, but twice. The actor got one for attending Ganesh Puja and the other for getting himself waxed at Madame Tussauds in London.

Having said that, of late, Salman Khan seems to have tried to stay out of controversies. And the box office reports, polls results and his massive following say the rest!

Hit-and-run case: Salman Khan may join Sanjay Dutt in jail

The verdict on the Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case’ will be heard today in a sessions court in Mumbai. Earlier the date was fixed for 10th June but due to heavy rains in Mumbai, the court staffs were not able to make it to court in time. So the date of hearing was postponed from 10th to 24th June. Salman is appealing against the charges of ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’.

In the wee hours of 28th September 2002, Salman Khan under the influence of heavy doses of alcohol drove his Land Cruiser over the people sleeping on the pavement. One was killed and four others were severely injured.

Sessions court judge U B Hejib will be giving the verdict on the actor’s case. Earlier lower court had given the verdict on this case, against which Salman’s lawyer appealed in sessions court. According to his lawyer, the verdict of lower court was ‘erroneous, bad in law and contrary to evidence on record’. The lawyer told that the lower court magistrate failed to appreciate the fact that the actor did not had any intention of killing people and it was a pure accident and the actor should not be punished so severely. If the actor is found guilty then he could be sent to jail for 10 years of term. The lower court magistrate examined 17 witnesses and after recording their statements; he concluded it to be a case of culpable homicide.

On the other hand, public prosecutor, Shankar Erande maintains that the charges against actor Salman Khan are well placed as the actor was under influence of alcohol while driving. In India, law does not permit ‘drinking and driving’ beyond a permissible limit. Salman’s blood sample was tested and it was found that he had 60 mg of alcohol in his blood which is way ahead of permissible limit. Shankar also told that police bodyguard of the actor, Ravindra Patil warned the actor against his high speed driving on that ill fated day but he did not listen to his bodyguard and drove fast. Ravindra Patil is now dead but his statement has been recorded by the police.An activist Santosh Daundkar also sent a petition to the court requesting for allowing his lawyer Abha Singh to intervene the case from the side of Prosecution. The request was made under section 301 of CrPc. On the request of the lawyer, Salman Khan is asked by the court to be present for all his hearings. In an account that is as melodramatic as it is heartbreaking, Jiah Khan’s mother Rabiya has told the Juhu police in detail about the last days of her daughter’s life and her rocky relationship with Suraj Pancholi, now in judicial custody for his alleged involvement in abetting the 25-year-old actress’s suicide.

Translated excerpts of Rabiya Khan’s statement follow:

After the suicide: “Jiah had no reply to this.”

According to Rabiya’s statement, she sent Suraj a message on his cellphone on May 28, a few days after he had come to her for help when Jiah had landed at his home after missing a flight out of the city.

Rabiya has told police she sent Suraj a message: “Dont play games with me.”

His reply: “You are confusing us.”

She told him: “Let my daughter think straight towards her further being with you will be out of your focus and disturb your parents (sic). Let there be peace. I did not say anything for one year but now I understood everything. If you are her focus then her life is in ruins.”

Suraj did not reply to this message.

Then Suraj began to message Jiah. I told her that Suraj did not love her. Come to your senses, I told her. Jiah then showed me a long message from Suraj. I read that... It said, “I want to start life with you. Hum pehle jaise jindagi guzaarenge. I love you. I will marry you. We will have our home.

I had told Jiah, don’t fall for his words.”

Suraj Pancholi's version

“Aditya Pancholi did not touch Rabiya’s feet at her place when he went there on the day of the incident. He has not told Rabiya anything about his son. The whole story is fabricated by Rabiya in her statement,” said Suraj Pancholi’s advocate Zamir Khan.

Vidya Balan saddened by Jiah Khan's suicide

Saddened by Bollywood actress Jiah Khan's suicide, Vidya Balan today said she does not understand why some people take the extreme step.

"It is very unfortunate. I hope no one ever has reason enough to end their life. I really can't imagine whether that requires courage or the opposite of that, because I have never been able to fathom why people commit suicide...I think it is very sad," Vidya told reporters here.

25-year-old Jiah had committed suicide at her residence in Mumbai on June 3 allegedly over her broken relationship with aspiring actor Suraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.

Amitabh Bachchan cannot get over the fact that his Nishabd co-star Jiah Khan aka Nafisa Khan ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. After tweeting about it on Monday night soon after the incident came to light, the actor wrote an elaborate blog this morning, wondering why young people tend to think of committing suicide so easily. We reproduce the blog verbatim:

“What prompts the young to end their lives in such sudden and disturbing manner ? What is it that prompts them to sacrifice before time, what has been given to them by nature for a fulfilment of a lifetime ?

The death of Jiah Khan, a pretty and accomplished artist who did her very first film with me – Nishabd, ended her life at the age of 26, by hanging herself !

From the moment that the news trickled in I have been most disturbed and upset and angry and frustrated at not having the right answers to the intricacies of the deed. What drives a person to such extremes ? Will that what they do, provide to them the satisfaction that they seek ? And what of those near and dear that they leave behind in distress, what of them ?

I see and hear all kinds of coverages and reports and discussions and concur that pressures, which is the conclusion of most opinions, need to be fought against. There is not a single person from the brightest to the not that have never at some point of time faced similar condition. But to wilt under it and succumb to it fatally, is not what I am willing to accept.

I am saddened yes, but also eager to propagate the antidote for such condition, if I ever did know of it. Young impressionable minds do carry visions of success and achievement. Who doesn’t. But to drop all effort and give it up ….

There is not a single success story in the world, that can truthfully claim that struggle was never something that they did not encounter in their drive for the heights that they reached or wished to reach. Rejections, failures, unaccomplished desires are all a part of our existence. They must be taken in our daily stride, much like what nature compels us towards. Fighting nature is tough, I know, but at times it is prudent to give in to it momentarily, and deliver victoriously what I believe nature itself would be expecting from us.

Do not blame circumstances. We are as equally to blame for them, for, at times we can be made responsible for them too.

The irony, and the most harshest of them all in this particular episode, is that the destination and attention that she allegedly craved for, came to her after she had given up her life, because of it – from what one gathers from the media.

I am distraught that she ended her life, but I am also discomforted by the thought of what she could have achieved in the profession … a profession that does demand very large portions of patience.

Sharing the discomfort of such a state often eases the mind and the body. Speaking it out to a near and dear does reduce the possibility of that drastic action in the end. Easily said I would imagine. But little do we know what ails that condition within an individual. Perhaps sharing too is a condition.

Jiah Khan’s sister Karishma Khan ready to make her Bollywood debut ?

Rumours abound that the sister of the late starlet will soon be looking at starring in a Hindi film

Jiah Khan was without doubt a very beautiful person. The young actor, who met a premature end, was acclaimed for her acting in her debut film Nishabd, where she held her own alongside the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. This makes us feel that acting runs in her genes, considering her mum Rabia Khan too has done her share in the limelight; she acted in N Chandra’s superhit 1986 movie Ankush. And now Jiah’s younger sister Karishma Khan will be making her debut, if rumours are to be believed.

We heard that Rabia Khan was already in talks with a few producers to discuss investing in Karishma’s debut film. However, with the sudden and unfortunate news of Jiah’s suicide, we presume that Karishma will be taking her time to recover from the shock before she can make any move towards working on a debut film. Apparently when Jiah was alive, she was quite excited about her sister’s potential movie career..

Well, Karishma definitely is a good-looking girl, and we’re sure she will have a great chance at success in Bollywood. But after such a cruel twist of fate that was her sister’s life, would this new Khan kid want to be a part of the film industry? We wonder…

Jiah Khan died of hanging: Postmortem report

Postmortem report of Jiah Khan has concluded that the Bollywood actress died due to hanging and no external injuries were found on her body, police said today.

"The postmortem report has found that the death of Jiah Khan was due to hanging and no other external wounds were found," they said.

Jiah (25) hanged herself at her residence in western Mumbai on June 3, allegedly over broken relationship with aspiring actor Suraj Pancholi, son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.

Police arrested Sooraj (21) and booked him on the charge of abetment to suicide following the incident.

The actress' mother blamed Suraj for driving her daughter to suicide and later handed over a six-page letter, purportedly written by Jiah, to police, throwing light on the relationship between the two.

The letter did not mention the person it is addressed to and narrates emotional travails of its writer.

Police are yet to verify if the letter was indeed written by Jiah and are awaiting report of handwriting experts.

Reacting to the recent suicide of actress Jiah Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says life should not be less important than love.

Jiah, 25, was found hanging at her flat in Sagar Sangeet Building in the posh Juhu area on June 3 around midnight. She apparently left a note, which points fingers towards Aditya Pancholi's son Suraj, who has been arrested in connection with her suicide.

Jiah and Suraj were in a relationship for quite some time and reportedly there were problems between the couple, which seem to have forced her to take the extreme step.

"Everyone has different definition of love. Love is a universal thing. I play the role of a lover which are written by a set of people...it is their interpretation of love. But I feel we should respect life more than love," Shah Rukh told reporters here at the first look launch of Chennai Express.

"There are going to be difficult times in everyone's life but one must not give up, and respect life. Every problem will be sorted out, don't lose hope," he said.

Jiah made her debut with Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

She later appeared in Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini and then in a supporting role in Akshay Kumar'sHousefull, which was her last film.

Suraj Pancholi's mother Zarina Wahab finally breaks her silence

Tired of seeing her son being vilified, damned and being portrayed as the villain in Jiah Khan’s tragic suicide, Zarina Wahab has decided to take charge of Suraj Pancholi’s public image. It has been decided that the volatile Aditya Pancholi, who had a fracas with the media recently, will stay out of the picture.

The public portrait of Aditya as the protective father was found to be damaging Suraj’s case. He has decided to completely withdraw from his son in public as he has been told by well-wishers and friends that his wild past and legally-challenged image are damaging Suraj’s prospects.

Says a friend of the family, “It’s been decided that Zarinaji, and not Aditya, will  accompanying Suraj to all the proceedings related to Suraj’s arrest and court hearings.”

On Monday when Suraj was taken into custody, it was mom Zarina who accompanied her son to the police station. On Tuesday morning, it was Zarina who went to court for Suraj’s hearing.

The harried mother said, “Let Jiah’s mother say what she wants to. The truth will come out. I will say one thing. I am a mother too. And the mother of a daughter. I know the pain that Jiah’s mother is going through. But I also know my son. I know what he’s capable of doing. And the behaviour that I hear being attributed to him is not like my son at all.”

On Monday afternoon the Pancholis were completely unprepared for Suraj’s arrest. The parents were advised to get anticipatory bail for their son but they brushed it off.

“Obviously we didn’t anticipate how important it was for some people to make a villain out of him. We know Suraj. And let me tell you, he is the best son any mother can hope for. If I’ve another life I’d want Suraj as my son,” Zarina declares emotionally.

Sighs the mother, “My prayers are with Jiah. I don’t think her soul would be at peace until all these controversies die down.” Meanwhile, Aditya finds it hard to deal with his son’s arrest. “He has stopped eating and he refuses to turn on the AC. ‘How can I eat and sleep properly when my son is locked up’, Aditya told a friend.”
